The Winged Surface Effect Vehicle "Ivolga"

The winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga" is an all-weather high-speed, highly efficient and reliable vehicle of multiple purpose with up to 14 seats moving without contact with the surface at the heights from 0.2 to 3.0 m. At the weight of up to 3700 kg the winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga" has the movement distance of up to 1500 km at the cruiser speed of 180 km/h. Due to affinity of the casing bottom to the surface of movement, the "surface effect" of the elevating force strengthening is generated by the dense air stream above the surface. With the help of this effect the vehicle slides on the condensed air layer above the surface without contacting it, consuming considerably smaller capacity of engines in comparison with the existing vehicles. By the profitability criterion the winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga" exceeds the cars up to 30%, high-speed court air cushion vessels 2 - 4 fold, and planes and helicopters 4 - 7 fold.

The winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga", due to the air cushion forced by the air screws under the casing bottom at small speeds, and to the "surface effect" on a march can be applied in the conditions of impassability at the unprepared sites with extended biases of 1:10, in the boggy and flooded districts, on the internal water reservoirs and rivers including those covered with ice and snow, and also in the marine conditions at rough sea of up to 3 - 4 numbers. The winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga" can be based both on the ground and on water surfaces with an independent exit without application of berths, hydrodescents and other coastal devices.

The winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga" is simple in the maintenance service which is carried out by the crew. It is equipped by the engines and systems from serial BMW or "Volga" cars. For application in severe conditions of Siberia and the Far East the winged surface effect vehicles are provided with the life-ensuring and power supply equipment with standby operation of not less than 24 hours. For operation in the southern regions the vehicle is equipped with the conditioner.

The winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga" by its aerohydrodynamical characteristics of stability without application of automated means is simple in control and has lowered requirements to the crew allowable to the mass consumer, similar to those to navigation of boats and yachts. The winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga" is safe and able to make an immediate braking and a stop at the movement on the route, and is able to continue the movement at failure of one of the engines.

In addition to the basic passenger-and-freight purpose the winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga" is structurally adapted to the application as a medical and rescue vehicle in the extreme situations, the patrolling vehicle of border, police and ecological units, fire-prevention and administrative departments, etc.

The winged surface effect vehicle is certificated in the River or Sea Register, having high ecological compatibility (when basing the condition of ground and grass is not broken, while movement on the water reservoirs the vehicle has no contact with water and does not make waves, and the vehicle is comparable with a car by noise and toxicity data), comfort of motion (almost no "rolling" caused by the water waving and atmospheric disturbances), low cost being close to the cost of a high-speed vessel, also provide the application of the winged surface effect vehicle "Ivolga" as personal transport, especially in tangible environment.
