Construction of PET, PE, PP used bottles and other plastic waste recycling plant
Nowadays the consumption of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) is steady growing approximately by 10-15% per year. PET is used mainly in plastic bottles production. PET utilization is the worse problem from any other polymeric waste. It's impossible to bury PET because it may lie in the ground for millions of years and surrounding ground accumulates the toxic substances and transforms into the desert. Burning of PET-waste is also inadmissible because today there is no technology to catch the toxic substances, evolving during burning of PET. Influence of these substances to environment and human organism is very destructive.
However in Russia thousands of tones of used plastic bottles are being thrown out to dumps, burned or buried. In European countries and in the United States the collecting and recycling of such waste is well organized for a long time. There are different methods of bottle collection, for example a deposit scheme (there are special machines set up in supermarkets to collect used bottles and return a deposit money to buyer), special containers for plastic bottles placed in streets. Collected bottles are usually being pressed into stacks and transferred for recycling into secondary PET. Market of PET recycling products has a good prospective and dynamically grows. Depending on quality of PET in cleaned flakes and of current state of affairs, price of material could be up to 800 USD per 1 ton. Bottle half-finished product may be used in the following purposes:
- During the processing into goods the secondary PET may be added into primary raw-material;
- Compounding - the secondary PET may be alloyed with other plastic materials (e.g. polycarbonate) and fill with fiber for making different parts of mechanics;
- Producing of pigments (super concentrates) for production of painted plastic goods.
Also cleaned PET-flakes may be used for production of the following wide range of goods:
- roof materials;
- tapes and plates;
- packthread and belts;
- package (boxes for fruits or eggs etc);
- multi-layer bottles;
- coatings for automobile's floor;
- textile fiber;
- packing fiber (for packing pillows, winter jackets, sleeping sacks etc. and for soft-toys packing);
- carpet coatings.
We consider advisable to prepare and accomplish the full complex of necessary measurements for collecting and recycling the PET waste. During the recycling it is possible to use the cost-effective equipment, e.g. processing line for PET bottles with production capacity of 500 kg/hour (look at Appendix).
