Construction of tire recycling complex

Dynamical growth of automobile park leads to continuous accumulating of used automobile tires. Nowadays the majority of collected tires (about 20%) is used as fuel, when quantity of tires recycling by pounding is less then 10%.

Used tires is a source of prolonged environment pollution:

  • tires aren't biologically destructible;
  • tires are flammable and in a case of fire it's hard to extinguish;
  • when stored used tire is an ideal place for rodents and insects and may be a source of infectious deceases.

By the way, used tires contain many important raw-materials: rubber, metal, textile cord.

Recycling of used tires is very important for economy and ecology. Natural oil raw-materials resources are non-refillable and it causes the necessity of using recycled materials with maximum effectiveness.

Establishing the used tire recycling plant may help not only to solve regional ecological problems and to create the additional workplaces but it also will create a source of additional financial resources for regional budgets at the expense of enterprises producing a range of goods using products of tire recycling. For example, rubber crumb with particles diameter of 3-8 mm is widely used in regenerate production, which is in popular and evergrowing demand.

On the last years demand on rubber powders with dispersion less than 1 mm has sharply grew up. Their cost has came close to cost of primary raw material - caoutchouc, because the cost of rubber powder is higher then cost of rubber crumble.

The world practice of forming the logistic system of collecting the used tires with state and municipal participation proved its vitality and high economical, social and ecological effectiveness.

The general purpose hard surface road's density is high enough. Repairing and safe exploitation of these transit thoroughfares in regional transportation is advisable with using the cheap raw-materials made from used tires regenerate as an important component of bitumen and asphalt-concrete covering. Although there are some problems to solve including collecting of used tires and building deponent sites in required quantity.

There are companies ready to participate, including financial participation, in developing and realization of regional ecology-oriented toxic waste recycling program of processing the used tires not only into high quality rubber crumble but into finished commodity for meeting the requirements of construction, transportation and chemical business.

On a first stage imported equipment and the modern technology of processing up to 10 thousand tones of finished rubber crumble which made a good showing may be used. Afterwards the regional mechanical engineering enterprises and scientific complex with qualified personnel should be able to enhance this program to process the full range of used tires and to produce the new equipment, new materials development with participating of local organizations and enterprises.

The new tire recycling plant will establish 15-20 new workplaces for 10,000 tones of recycled tires and up to 1000 new workplaces for persons without special skills and retirees in tires collecting logistic infrastructure.

The rubber crumble made as a result of tire recycling may be used in a wide range of industries. Effective marketing will undoubtedly provide fast and stable selling of that crumble in domestic and foreign markets and its effective use in highly remunerative production of competitive goods.

  • Rubber powder with particle diameter from 0.2 to 0.45 mm is used as an addition (5-20%) to rubber mixtures for new tire production, huge tires and other rubber goods.
  • Rubber powder with particles diameter up to 0.6 mm is used as an addition (up to 50-60%) for rubber footwear and other rubber goods.
  • Rubber powder with particle diameter up to 1 mm is used for production of composition roof materials (rolled roofs, rubber roofing slate, rubber support for tracks, rubber-bitumen mastics, vulcanized and non-vulcanized roll waterproofing materials.
  • Rubber powder with particle diameter from 0.5 to 1 mm is used as an addition for petroleum bitumen modification in asphalt-concrete mixtures used in road construction to improve road's deformation and friction features. Such powders also used as a sorbent for collecting of oil from water and ground surfaces, plugging of oil wells, waterproofing of green layers etc.
  • Rubber crumble with particle diameter from 1 to 2 mm is used for producing of rubber regenerate and in construction industry for producing the rubber-bitumen adhesive material for airport mastics, foiled isolation material, bitumen roof materials, asphalt-concrete mixtures, sorbent etc.
  • Rubber crumble with particle diameter from 2.0 to 5 mm is used in construction of modern football fields with artificial grass covering and floor coatings for sporting objects, light-athletic arenas, pavement surface coatings, noise shields, panels, plaits.
  • Rubber crumble with particle diameter from 5.0 to 10 mm is used for solid rubber slabs production for construction of tram and railway crossings with longer exploitation period, good waterproof and atmosphere resistance features, low noise level and modern design, sporting areas with comfortable and safe coating, animal farms etc.

Some technical and economical characteristics of used tire recycling complex and approximate investment attraction indicators are present in Appendix.

In a case of positive decision we are ready to develop a business-plan with substantiation of investment into Complex program of used tires recycling for a particular object including establishing a plant processing tires into high-technology and liquid goods.
